CU names 15 National Scholars for 2014

The National Scholars Program at Clemson University has named 15 National Scholars for 2014. The list includes one student who comes to Clemson from nearby Daniel High School. Sarah Waldvogel, an accomplished musician, is a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist who plans to major in genetics. Sarah and the other nine women and five men who make up the 2014 cohort of Clemson National Scholars are said to be the most accomplished in the 15-year history of the program. Beyond their academic records, they are a diverse and talented group of researchers, writers, artists, actors, musicians, athletes and community servants. National Scholars receive a four-year merit scholarship that covers tuition and fees; an allowance for room and board; and a summer group study-abroad experience after freshman year—along with a range of intellectual enrichment opportunities and dedicated mentoring.
