CU student arrested on drug charges

An 18-year old student has been charged with multiple drug offenses on the campus of Clemson University. The university police arrested Joseph Michael Bates of Summerville yesterday in his room. The arrest was made by officers patrolling Johnstone Hall. Bates was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within proximity of a school, both felonies. He was also charged with four misdemeanor counts of possession of controlled substances.
