DAR donation to restore historic Clemson property

The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution has donated $10 thousand to the Clemson University Foundation to restore the front porch at the historical Hopewell Plantation.  The plantation, at Cherry Farm, is the 18th century home of Gen. Andrew Pickens and includes some of the land Pickens received for his service as a brigadier general in the American Revolution.  The Hopewell Plantation front porch is in need of repairs to make it safe for public use.
