Day one for Oconee General Sessions trial

The display of the crime scene photographs and the testimony of a medical examiner helped draw to a close the first day of the State’s case against Westminster area resident Adam Burdette. He’s charged with murder in the shooting death in 2013 of Seneca resident Evan Tyner. However, Burdette’s attorney gave indications that the defense will pin its case on a shotgun that accidentally fired. A responding emergency medical technician interpreted a Burdette remark to mean that the gun went off after he threw it.
