Day three of Oconeean’s Florida trial

In Sarasota County, Florida, the defense planned to call to the stand today mental health experts as part of their effort to show temporary insanity to explain why an Oconee County man shot to death another man within a few feet of a tiki bar at a Gulf Coast hotel. Michael Rice, a former fire fighter in Westminster and Long Creek, is charged with the murder of Philippe Nahon. Yesterday witnesses testified for the defense, including one man who said he heard only a few words exchanged between Rice and Mahon before the shooting. Nahon was killed Memorial Day weekend in 2012.
