Democrats engage the Sheriff’s candidates

All three men running for Oconee Sheriff are Republicans. But there they all were Saturday morning, campaigning for votes at a Democratic Party meeting. Nearly all seats inside the Seneca City Hall council chambers were full Saturday as Mike Crenshaw, Donnie Fricks, and Terry Wilson made statements and answered questions at what was their third forum of the week. This one was different, as reflected by the kinds of questions the candidates received. In answer to the first question, all three candidates said they would not favor legalizing marijuana even though, as they were told, to do so would cut out the middleman and his illegal profits. All in all Saturday everyone seemed to enjoy and benefit from the give-and-take. Democrats, like everyone else, have an interest in law enforcement and, as moderator Peter Kent said, Democrats vote. Audience member Joel Arnold was another attendee pleased by what he saw and heard. We’ll have excerpts of what the candidates had to say throughout the day on 96.3/WGOG NEWS.
