Deputies complete training course

As the result of their training last week, Oconee sheriff’s officers have a greater awareness of domestic violence. A course on the basics was taught by Sgt. Kevin Cain, domestic violence investigator, and two Safe Harbor representatives. As part of the Sheriff’s Office effort to lessen violence in the homeplace, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw promises to seek maximum fines and penalties for offenders. Safe Harbor continues to make plans and raise money to open the first domestic violence shelter in Oconee County. The 24-hour crisis hotline number is 1-800/291-2139.
