Deputies graduate from state academy

Two Oconee deputy sheriffs have graduated in a ceremony at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy in Columbia.  Caitlyn Pope and Ike Lewis have begun work as Uniform Patrol Officers.  Pope will work during the day and Lewis will work at night.  Pope graduated in 2014 from Anderson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in human services.  She is working toward a 2nd degree in criminal justice and a Master’s degree in leadership management.  Lewis graduated from Seneca High School in 1998 and worked for the Seneca Fire Department.  He also had stints with Westminster Fire and with Oconee Fire and Rescue and is trained as an emergency medical technician.
