Devastated Oconee farmers may apply

State Senator Thomas Alexander expects an announcement within a few days that Oconee County farmers will be made eligible to apply for financial assistance, if they lost 40% of their crops during the flooding period last year.  Oconee and the rest of the Upstate received a lot of rain in the fall, but nowhere near what the mid and low state deluge.  Alexander told the Westminster Rotary Club today to expect the announcement to be made by the office of the South Carolina Agriculture Commissioner.
