DHEC’s Walhalla presence clarified

DHEC’s decision to stop issuing death and birth certificates in Walhalla covers that service only. The Department of Health and Environmental Control continues to provide environmental and permitting services at Pine Street—the Oconee County administrative office complex in Walhalla. DHEC’s Jim Beasley told us this morning, “Just want to assure your all your listeners and also your online readers that, first of all, DHEC’s Walhalla office in Oconee County has not closed. Really, the only changes are that vital records have now been moved online for efficiency. All other services remain as they were.”
