Discolored Clemson water clearing up

Efforts by the Anderson Joint Regional Water System to clear up discolored water in the City of Clemson’s system appear to be working. According to an announcement by Clemson, the pipes are now carrying clearer water to the city and university. The water has been deemed safe to drink but until the discoloration subsides, users should limit clothes washing. Meantime, the city is emptying one of its tanks “to turn it over” with “clear water.” Water is being flushed systematically throughout the system. Clemson water customers are requested to call the office at 653-2046 if they notice any discoloration in the drinking water, especially after tomorrow. After-hours calls should be made to the police department at 624-2000.
