Do or die for Warpath project?

An organization that monitors Lake Keowee developments believes a decision will be made next month whether to move forward with a long-talked about project on the Pickens County side of the lake. Jack Lewis, president of FOLKS—Friends of Lake Keowee, referred today to the Warpath Landing project which developers have been pursuing for more than five years. The proposed development at a point dividing the northern and southern parts of Lake Keowee would entail a hotel, marina and other amenities, but Lewis says it has been impacted in part by the recession that took hold in 2008. Out of concern for the potential to increase boat traffic on the lake, FOLKS has expressed reservations. Lewis said, “We weren’t dead set against it, but we certainly didn’t push it that hard.”
