Double Murder-Suicide Claims 3 in Northeast Georgia

A double murder and suicide in Northeast Georgia has left 3 people dead. WLHR’s MJ Kneiser reports the incident happened Saturday night shooting at Froh’s Restaurant on Rock Springs Road in Hart County. Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland says he received a call late Saturday night about a shooting at the restaurant. Cleveland says witnesses say Sammy Chumley arrived at the restaurant after closing, armed with a gun. Witnesses say he shot Jason Forkin, the owner of the restaurant, then forced his ex-wife Lori Weaver Chumley into a car and the two left. Sheriff Cleveland says Chumley drove to a burned out home in Franklin County, where the two once lived. Cleveland says he then shot his ex wife and turned the gun on himself. Cleveland says Chumley shot himself in the head, and was taken to the hospital, but later died. The motive for the shooting is not exactly known, but it is believed Chumley thought his ex wife was having an affair with Mr. Forkin. Lori Weaver Chumley was an employee of the restaurant.
