Drug bust near elementary school

KyleRoyceCarter  A 48-year old man has been arrested in a drug bust at his home—across the highway from a rural Oconee school. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Kyle Royce Carter Thursday at 7060 Keowee School Road, across from that community’s elementary school. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the charges against Carter are trafficking ice, distribution of ice near a school, possession with intent to distribute acid, possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of mushrooms. The arrest was part of a joint operation with the West Union Police. Jimmy Watt, Sheriff’s Office spokesman, quotes Ken Washington, Captain of the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division, as saying that Carter is considered “a major player.”
