Drug charges land Anderson County man in jail

Drug charges have landed an Anderson County man in the Oconee County jail. And it’s in the jail in the County Seat where Iva resident Roger Landon Slaton remained today under bonds in excess of $35 thousand. Deputies say they were investigating reports of a suspicious person around 5 o’clock Friday morning on highway 11 near I-85. Deputies say they found drugs and drug paraphernalia inside a white Nissan Maxima. Arrest warrants accused the 36-year old Slaton of trafficking more than 10 grams of meth and possession of three controlled substances. Deputies questioned a female passenger in the car about whether she was being held without her will.
