Drug crackdown in Seneca

Narcotics division police officers in Seneca say they have 39 warrants for the arrests of 28 people, charging violations of the state’s drug laws.  Police Chief John Covington says during the last six to eight months his department has received complaints of illegal drug deals throughout the city.  Those complaints have placed in motion undercover drug buys that target dealers and their transactions.  Charges include distribution of cocaine, distribution of crack cocaine, distribution of controlled substances, distribution of marijuana, and distribution of methamphetamine.  Assisting the police with the arrests are officers of the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.
