Duke Endowment grant to fund Access Health

A grant of $500 thousand from The Duke Endowment will allow Oconee Medical Center to fund its Access Health program through 2016. Funded entirely by grants and private donations, Mountain Lakes Access Health’s primary purpose is to improve healthcare for low-income, un-insured adults in Oconee County, Clemson, Central, and Six Mile. This grant is to be used to pay the salaries of four staff and the expenses of operating the program. Heather Goss serves as the executive director. After more than one year, Access Health counts nearly 300 adults as having seen improvement in their quality of life. “This grant will allow us to continue to provide intensive case management services for some of the neediest citizens of our community,” Goss said.
