Duncan favors quarantine

The Third District congressman, speaking in Oconee County, called for the quarantine of travelers entering the United States from West Africa, where there is an outbreak of the deadly disease Ebola. At this morning’s business forum of the Oconee Economic Alliance, Jeff Duncan said temperature scanners at major airport, in his opinion, won’t be sufficient to ensure against an outbreak in this country. He said the quarantine should last 21 days to cover the incubation period for Ebola. Duncan also spoke about the potential for foreign fighters to enter the U-S after having been radicalized in Syria by the fighting in both Syria and Iraq. The Republican lawmaker says ISIS, or ISIL, as he prefers to call the fighters, is “a real threat.”
