Duncan statement on terror threats
After a hearing yesterday in Washington, Congressman Jeff Duncan issued a statement on terror threats from border security. The Third District Republican spoke after chairing a subcommittee hearing on “Potential Terrorist Threats: Border Security Challenges in Latin America and the Carribean.” Duncan worried about Western Hemisphere vulnerabilities, and these are his words, “with its porous borders, free-trade zones, and corruption problems….” He says it makes the U-S ripe for exploitation by those who wish to do the country harm. At the start of the hearing, Duncan said, “We need better information-sharing, tighter and systematic ID checks in the region, and stronger border security measures….”
