Duncan statement on Townville

In response to the shootings at Townville Elementary School, Congressman Jeff Duncan released the following statement: “I am deeply saddened by the events in Townville, and also thankful for the tremendous response from our First Responders that prevented the situation from becoming a greater tragedy. I ask that everyone join me in keeping young Jacob Hall uplifted in prayer as he continues to recover at Greenville Memorial Hospital. I also ask for prayers for the friends and families of all involved. Ours is not the first community to be touched by this kind of violence, nor will it be the last. But I know that, by the Grace of God, we will recover from this tragedy and find strength in each other and in the Providence of God. Our community must come together especially to help all of the children who will need our love and counsel to get through the coming days and months. I also want to take a moment to praise veteran firefighter Jamie Brock, whose quick thinking and brave actions brought an end to this shooting spree. Without Mr. Brock’s heroism, and the work of many others who quickly arrived on scene, this situation may have been much worse. My office has been in constant communication with law enforcement and the community, and will help in any way possible.”
