Duncan votes to cut food stamps

September 20, 2013

Congressman Jeff Duncan voted with the majority to cut $4 billion from food stamps. The bill that will have state enact new work requirements for many recipients passed by seven votes. It’s considered a victory for conservatives, such as South Carolina’s Third District Republican Congressman, but a defeat for Democrats who united in opposing the cut.
