Duncan votes with majority

Third District Congressman Jeff Duncan, Laurens Republican, cast his vote with the majority, as the House narrowly approved a bill that would allow private sector workers the option of trading over time pay for extra time off. The bill was approved 223-204, but its prospects are poor in both the Democratic Senate and with Democratic President Barack Obama. Duncan and other supporters believe it would allow working parents the same flexibility as those in the public sectors when it comes to taking time off to be with their children or aging parents. But Democrats and other opponents say it would allow employers to pressure workers against taking overtime pay.
