Dying tree is a safety hazard

A large tree inside Clemson’s Memorial Stadium is dying and, according to the university, creates a safety hazard.  The large white oak is to be replaced by a bald cypress, scheduled to be planted once the football season ends.  The dying tree stands in the southeast corner of the lower seating bowl.  According to the university arborist, university landscape services and an outside consultant, the root system of the tree was severely damaged during construction around it years ago and has been declining since then.
