Eastin becomes first female official in regular-season NFL game

Shannon Eastin became the first female official in a regular-season NFL game on Sunday.

Shannon Eastin made history Sunday as the first female official in a regular-season NFL game, when she worked as a line judge during the match-up between the St. Louis Rams and the Detroit Lions. Eastin is one of the replacement officials hired by the NFL while the regular officials are locked out. She became the first female official to work an NFL pre-season game last month as the line judge when the Green Bay Packers played the San Diego Chargers.
