Eat at school and help Backpack!

February 11, 2013

How do chicken salad sandwich, chips, baked beans, strawberry shortcake and tea sound for lunch? That’s the menu this Friday at Seneca’s Blue Ridge Elementary School. Oconee School District invites Oconee County residents to enjoy lunch there at Blue Ridge or at any other county school, where the menu will be something else, as a way to help benefit the Backpack program that sends meals home over the weekends to some of the district’s neediest students. Oconee school food supplier Sodexo has pledged again to donate a portion of Friday’s lunch receipts to Backpack. The cost of an adult meal will be $5.50.
