Edwards: “No decision” about re-election

In spite of rumors that he is seriously considering leaving politics, the Walhalla mayor said today he has made no decision about this year’s municipal election. It means that Mayor Edwards must weigh a decision whether he’ll offer for a second, four-year term in the November 3 election. Edwards knocked down a rumor that he has any interest in another public office, specifically Oconee County Council. He says he has no interest beyond Walhalla and flatly said he will not be a candidate for Seat Two, County Council in 2016. That’s the seat held by Wayne McCall. At least one other individual is said to have decided to run for Walhalla mayor this year. That’s Tjay Bagwell, mayor pro-tem.
