“Eight days to go”

At an Oconee Medical Center board meeting last night, Jeanne Ward referred to the calendar and noted that only eight days remain before the local hospital officially falls under the umbrella of the Greenville Health System. And Ward, the OMC president/CEO, pronounced her hospital ready. Among the changes: Oconee Medical Center will once again become Oconee Memorial Hospital and the OMH board of directors will not longer have responsibility for setting the hospital budget. As Hunter Kome, the chief operating officer told reporters after last night’s meeting, the budget will be the responsibility of the board of directors that oversees the entire Greenville system
