Seven social service agencies in Oconee County will share $30 thousand in emergency food and shelter money. The local board that governs how that money is spent met Tuesday and approved allotments to the following organizations: to the Oconee Presbyterian Service Fund for utility assistance; to Golden Harvest, for food assistance; to the Salvation Army, for utilities assistance; to Golden Corner Ministries Food Bank; to We Care Community Services, for food assistance; to “SHARE”, for rent assistance; and to Family Friends, to distribute diapers. The approved agencies are being told they’ll receive the money in 90 days.
