Emergency response team needs volunteers

An Oconee County emergency response team needs volunteers. It’s Oconee’s “CERT” program that focuses on neighbors helping neighbors during disasters. Its mission is to create awareness, to educate, and to equip residents what to do before, during and after a disaster. “CERT” looks to pick up momentum by recruiting more volunteers. A training course takes place Friday through Sunday, July 25-27. The course is free. For more information, contact Oconee Emergency Services at 638-4200.
