Enhanced security to be added to swim pool

Enhanced security is to be added on the grounds of Walhalla Swimming Pool to help prevent a repeat of the destruction by vandals of the men’s bathroom. In making that announcement last night, city officials, such as Councilwoman Jennifer Crawford, said that law enforcement continues to solicit information from the public as to who was responsible for the criminal act. And if you can offer the right kind of information you’ll qualify for a reward of up to $2 thousand through the Crime Stoppers program operated by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office.  At the same time, once the pool opens for swimming in 2015, it likely will offer some enhanced amenities for the benefit of pool users. The council voted to proceed with a “design concept” for benches, picnic tables, shade structures, and a splash zone.
