Equipment theft arrests at CU
Two Anderson County men have been arrested and charged with stealing more than $30 thousand in equipment from a housing warehouse at Clemson University. The university identifies one of the men arrested as a temporary housing employee. That employee, Kamil Tarnowski, 22-year old Townville resident, was charged with grand larceny and petty learceny, according to a statement from Clemson. A second man, 19-year old Anderson resident Andrew Nicholas Allen, was charged with identical offenses. Police say the incident occurred March 1, when someone using a welding torch cut the lock from a fence surrounding the warehouse. They took a 40-foot boom lift, a welder, a utility trailer and other equipment. According to Clemson, some of the equipment was sold on the Internet.
