Equipment theft leads to Pickens man

An investigation involving sheriff’s officers in two counties has led officers to a Pickens man. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office today identified a 28-year old Pickens resident as the suspect, for whom it is holding arrest warrants arising from a crime last week near Seneca. Investigators believe Joseph Coy Kilby broke into a building the night of January 5 on Woods Edge Drive near Seneca and took about $1,750 dollars worth of construction equipment. And they believe the intruder had in his possession a bolt cutter, a screwdriver, and a claw hammer. The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office helped Oconee in the investigation.
