Equipment trouble on the river

Trouble with equipment being used in the Chattooga River recovery operations made for a short day. “The very latest is that we have just actually suspended operations on the river, so the recovery crew team is heading in now. We’ve had some equipment problems, so we’ll be fixing those now and heading back out again tomorrow morning,” Michelle Burnett, public affairs officer for the U-S Forest Service told 96.3/WGOG NEWS just before 1:30 this afternoon. Today’s efforts were beset by other problems, as well. Cloudy skies prohibited a helicopter fly-over and a search-dog team was not deployed, as had been hoped.
