Equipment troubles at the second-year Oconee jail

Oconee County wants the project general contractor to address equipment troubles at the second-year county jail.  Sheriff Mike Crenshaw this afternoon confirmed that among those with concerns is Councilman Wayne McCall, chairman of the county’s law enforcement committee.  Crenshaw said, “Captain Pruitt has submitted a list of warranty items for New South Construction to address. The one year warranty expires this month and we wanted to be sure we provided the needed documentation.”  The list includes three fluorescent lights with a humming noise, some of the housing areas HVAC do not reach the thermostat levels causing the units to operate continually and the washing machine which was bolted to the concrete has broken loose from the concrete.  Crenshaw said, “We are waiting for the contractor to address these concerns.”
