Event to draw attentionn to child abuse

A Westminster man has reserved Seneca’s Gignilliat Community Center for the night of Saturday, April 23 and an event to draw attention to the problem of child abuse.  Paul Elston urged the Seneca City Council to help promote what Elston says is a first event of this nature.  Speaking to the mayor and council last night, Elston identified himself as a former policeman whose experience brought him in contact with the problem of child abuse.  One other member of the public addressed the mayor and council.  Linda Lay gave the elected leaders an idea about the problems of those people with mental health issues, and she said she’d like to see Oconee Memorial Hospital devote some of its unused space in the old hospital building as a wing for mental health patients.
