Event will recognize unsung war heroes

A program to recognize the unsung heroes who defended the country’s freedom in war will take place 4 to 6 o’clock Sunday afternoon at GreenviewBaptistChurch, 105 Church Street, Clemson.  “A Salute to Our Everyday Heroes” is sponsored by the Clemson Area African American Museum, in partnership with the CharlesH.HoustonCenter at ClemsonUniversity.  The keynote speaker will be Maj. Gen. Cornell Wilson Jr., retired deputy commander of the US Marine Corps.  The Daniel High Junior ROTC will present the colors and sing, “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”  At the end of the ceremony, there will be a tribute from Sen. Lindsey Graham’s office and from mayors in the tri-county area.
