“Everything is on the table,” Bagwell says

March 5, 2014

Budget time is apt to be crunch time for Walhalla city departments meaning that, to save money, some jobs could be cut. Tjay Bagwell, chairman of the city council finance committee, acknowledged talk making the rounds that “everything is on the table” as his city attempts to find funds for Streetscape and its water needs—two large Walhalla projects. At last night’s council meeting, Bagwell called for departments to save where they can. As for the possibility that Walhalla can reduce its approximate 75-employee payroll, he said, “I’m not after anyone specific or any particular department or job, but I would not be doing my job if I did not look carefully into where cuts could be made….”
