Ex-offenders to get help landing jobs

A state grant will allow the area’s technical college to help ex-criminal offenders find work in the field of highway construction.  The state Department of Employment and Workforce today announced a $148 thousand dollar grant to Tri-County Technical College to provide highway construction apprenticeships to unemployed ex-offenders.  The program is to help those with criminal records and lacking in skills to find work in entry-level jobs such as flagger, quality control technicians and dump truck drivers.
