Fair officially opens

At the close of last night’s “Steak in Oconee” dinner to celebrate Oconee agriculture, Stanley Gibson welcomed the crowd to this year’s South Carolina Foothills Heritage Fair. The old-fashioned fair starts a five-day run on highway 123 between Seneca and Westminster. Gibson, the fair president, says a canned drive and ticket sales tonight are to be donated to the Golden Corner Pantry—as a way to help feed those in need.
