Fair Play man charged with fraud and forgery

A Fair Play man was jailed at Walhalla this week, charged with fraud and forgery in an investigation of someone’s stolen personal identity.  According to the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, six warrants were obtained against Ronnie Kipp Stancil, 25-year old resident of W. Fair Play Boulevard.  Stolen last year was a wallet that contained a debit card, a driver’s license and Social Security card.  The victim of that theft later received a letter from an Anderson attorney, saying someone had tried to use the victim’s identification.  Sheriff’s officers turned their attention on Stancil when they received information that someone had tried to scam an attorney by pretending to be another person.
