A family argument Saturday morning has resulted in attempted murder charges against a 63 year-old man. Oconee County Sheriff’s officers received a call shortly before 5:30 AM Saturday in reference to a disturbance at a home on Hobson Street, Westminster. Officers were able to determine that, in a gathering of family and friends, there was an argument over possession of property and funeral expenses. According to investigators, one person left the gathering, and returned later with multiple weapons. Police say the man proceeded to fire shots into the home. No one was wounded. Police say they have arrested and charged a 63 year-old James. L. Webb with 8 counts of attempted murder. WGOG will have further details as they become available.
