Farm Center leader: “lot of work ahead”

Stanley Gibson says he and others involved in the South Carolina Foothills Heritage Fair are feeling validated by this week’s Oconee County Council vote to buy property on which to build a permanent home for the fair, along with an agriculture center offering a mixed use.  But Gibson acknowledges the work has only just begun, as it’s incumbent on the local agriculture movement to find outside money for their buildings.  In a meeting today in Seneca, Gibson displayed a layout of the arena, barn, covered building and other structures envisioned for the Sandifer Boulvard property.  Agriculture, he said, will be the focus of the farm center activities, but it will offer multiple uses
