Federal bank leader speaks in Seneca

When local and area banks need liquidity to make home loans, they have the option to turn to a Federal Home Loan Bank. For institutions like the Oconee Federal Savings and Loan and the Stephens Federal Savings and Loan, they can turn to the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta. The Atlanta bank is the largest of the country’s 12-bank system. And that’s why Curt Evatt of Oconee and Tim Ash of Stephens were in the audience at the Seneca Rotary Club this afternoon to hear Wes McMullan, president/CEO of the Atlanta bank. McMullan is an Oconee County resident who makes the commute to Atlanta. McMullan highlighted the service provided by his bank and made comments about the current status of lending throughout the country.
