Federal indictment charges Salem man

A federal grand jury has indicted a Salem man on the charge of illegally possession of ammunition as a felon.  The indictment charging Justin David Crenshaw was announced in Columbia by Beth Drake, acting U-S Attorney for South Carolina.  The indictment alleges that on October 25 that the 31-year old  Crenshaw, having been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, knowingly did possess 9mm ammunition.  Prior to the indictment, Crenshaw was arrested on federal arrest warrants in early December for the offense and has remained in custody, detained without bond. The investigation was conducted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
