Federal money proposed for Oconee highway work

Highway money allocated to South Carolina for the 2016 Federal Aid Improvement Program would pay for two resurfacing projects in Oconee County.  They are nearly six miles of South Carolina 24 from SC 59/Tokeena Road to Townville and nearly two and three-quarter miles of secondary-488/the Wells Highway, from the Clemson Boulevard beyond the Shiloh Road intersection.  Projects statewide are being slotted for $190.1 million federal dollars and are to cover nearly 490 miles of roads.  South Carolinians are being invited to comment to the DOT on the proposed projects.
