Ferris wheel and swing added to Seneca Fest

Seneca has approved spending $8 thousand to bring in a ferris wheel and a swing for Seneca Fest, the city’s Memorial Day weekend celebration. The mayor and council approved the expenditure as proposed last night by their events coordinator, Riley Johnson. The ferris wheel and a swing rides will be erected on the grounds of the Seneca Library and will be in use simultaneous with the other features of the celebration across the railroad tracks downtown. Johnson says library officials are excited at the prospect that the rides will attract children to their place of learning. City officials like the choice of the library grounds because of the availability of parking there. Johnson says shuttle transportation will also be offered that weekend between the downtown and the South Second Street library grounds.
