Fire burns Utica home

Fire burned a home late yesterday afternoon in the Utica Community near Seneca. Neighbors used the telephone at 4:45 to alert authorities to the fire on Brown Street. Charlie King, Oconee Fire Chief, says fire fighters were able to put a stop to the fire within five minutes of their arrival. At one point, it was thought someone may have been trapped inside the Brown Street home, but crews were quickly able to account for everyone. According to King, the fire is being investigated by the county’s fire investigation team.
