Fire calls on a cold morning

In weather like this, fire fighters stay at the ready. And they were busy this morning in Oconee County. In Fair Play, the occupant of a home on Conner Boulevard was treated for smoke inhalation resulting from a chimney fire. Charlie King, Oconee fire chief, said the chimney heat proved combustible to the carpet in front of the fireplace. In the Oakway fire district, a well house used for multiple purposes, caught fire on the Crooks Farm Road. According to King, the heat from a space heater caused contents in the wellhouse to catch fire.
