Fire this morning near Westminster

Fire damaged a home near Westminster, and the fire chief credits a smoke detector with alerting the occupants. The fire occurred around 8 a-m on the Oak Grove Road, and Chief Chris Smith said the smoke detector enabled the occupant of the home to ensure that both she and an infant inside got out safely. Smith said the fire started around the chimney and the damage was confined to the room in which the heater was located.
