Fleet of new buses headed Seneca’s way

The first electric blue and gold-striped passenger bus has arrived in Seneca and, according to the city administrator, is being readied for running routes. Administrator Greg Dietterick last night said all four electric buses, manufactured by the Proterra Company of Greenville, are due in Seneca by early December. Dietterick says, to start with, the first bus will hit the road behind a gas-powered bus to make sure there are no problems while in motion. Three electric power-charging stations are in place across Seneca to ensure the electric buses stay juiced up.
